Joy Bennett

Pottery

Joy Bennett grew up in Burnsville, North Carolina, the daughter of Annie Wray and John Bennett.  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and took her first pottery class in 1960.  In 1996, she began taking classes at The Odyssey in Asheville, North Carolina.

Joy focuses on creating hand-built pottery including earthenware, stoneware and porcelain.  The porcelain angel ornament Joy has designed for the “Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree” collection is imprinted using a dresser scarf found in her mother’s cedar chest.

Joy lives and operates her small business in Burnsville.
