Photography

I am attracted to color, shape, light and shadow. When I shoot the natural world I shoot intuitively, drawn by those elements. When I photograph people, I try to capture the person or situation beneath the surface.

Originally from Chicago, award-winning photographer Mary Vogel lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina with her partner of many years and their cat, Dr. Melfi.

She graduated from the Southeastern Center for The Arts Professional Photography Program in Atlanta, Georgia in 1990.
