Custom Furniture-Making

In this world of assembly lines and automation, it’s virtually impossible to find a furniture company that still believes in hand craftsmanship. Even rarer is the company that will customize a finish to your specifications. Yet, there are such companies, and happily Mayland Court is one of them.

At Mayland Court, we specialize in creating exceptional finishes and hand-painted artistry for the discerning customer. These are complex, multi-hued patinas with a lively surface character and texture beyond imagination. We offer over 35 in-house finishes in a wide spectrum of color. We also have a group of talented artists who will gladly hand decorate your furniture. Our furniture pieces are the perfect canvas for our special finishes. Each one is carved to perfection and superbly executed in only the finest of cabinet woods.

Mayland Court is nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s a region famous for arts and crafts in many mediums; glass,
pottery, painting, but above all, fine furniture making. This is the heritage our artisans bring to you; and a legacy to which our founder and furniture veteran, Don Warren and his son, Chris, totally ascribe.

With Mayland Court you can take pride in knowing that you are not only getting a fine piece of furniture, but also that each design is original…personal…made by us, but
created by you.

Chris Warren has owned and operated Mayland Court for over ten years. He is the son of Jean and Don Warren, who founded parent company Finishes First in 1988. Chris received a Bachelor of Science degree in Furniture Manufacture & Management from North Carolina State University and has been in the furniture industry for nearly 28 years.

Chris and his wife Debbie have a daughter, Dallas, and a son, Devin.
